Cecily Kovatch is founder of Fueled for Growth. She has 25 years experience building new businesses in the energy, financial services, and consumer sectors. She thrives at tackling complex challenges, finding innovative solutions, and growing them into sustainable businesses.
She takes ideas from 0 to 1 to develop solutions that not only reduce costs but finds ways to turn waste into revenue-generating opportunities. For companies looking to meet their ESG commitments, she develops strategy and launches solutions to help them achieve those goals. She has moved companies from linear to circular business models, the key to taking sustainability to the next level after designing for sustainability.
Cecily is a Senior Advisor to GiantLeap Capital and ESG Advisor to a SPAC (merger completed). She is also an advisor and mentor to cleantech startups through Cleantech Open, PowerBridgeNY, VentureWell, and Stevens Venture Center. She has trained and advised 100+ tech startups in emerging economies for the US Department of State’s Global Innovation through Science & Technology Initiative (GIST) as a VentureWell consultant (N. Macedonia, Georgia, and Morocco).
Previously, she was Circular Economy Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) building circular businesses at Logitech and launched their B2B trade-in program. As EIR at Itron Idea Labs, she developed a cloud-enabled service to provide energy, water & emissions data monitoring to C&I customers in order to detect and correct unintended electricity and water waste and meet sustainability goals. Prior to that she was head of marketing and innovation at Covanta, the world's largest waste-to-energy (WTE) company where she developed organic growth opportunities. She also built and led the energy & industrials research practice at Guidepoint Global (formerly Standard & Poor's Vista Research), ran a P&L for Hess Corp, and worked in corporate development for specialty chemicals manufacturer Rohm & HaaS. She began her career at Schlumberger where she was a wireline & testing field engineer. She has a bachelors degree in Geology & Environmental Studies from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
